Jayendra (Jay) Singh is a dedicated community volunteer who supports the arts, education and community nonprofit organizations that serve the Hayward community. In 1985, as a young man, Jay immigrated from Fiji to the city of Hayward to join his parents. After working for 36 years in biotechnology, he retired in 2018 and has since dedicated himself to serving the community. Jay supports the arts community by volunteering with the Hayward Arts Council and A.R.T., Inc. As a board member of the Hayward Arts Council, he helps curate artwork exhibitions including an online exhibit of artwork from India. As a board member of A.R.T., Inc., Jay serves as the membership chair, webmaster and assists with exhibitions. Jay has also been a longtime board member and treasurer of the Hayward Literacy Plus Council and a volunteer with several other community service organizations. In April 2025, Jay received the Hearts of Hayward Award which honors volunteers who give their time and energy to benefit individuals, local social service organizations and programs in Hayward. Jay Singh is a resident of Hayward.
